The lacquered segment lines, angular pauldrons and skirt-plate geometry all follow the film's design, printing with edge definition that keeps the segmentation readable in photographs. The segment gaps hold consistent reveal widths, which is what sells the lacquered-machine effect on camera; skirt plates hang correctly at rest, and the pauldrons' inner faces are finished, because throne-room choreography exposes every angle. One color done perfectly is harder than ten done adequately — a gloss crimson over careful priming is the whole assignment.
