Wind it up, let it fly, take cover. The Bolo Grenade is the Coalition's improvised throwing charge from Gears of War — a slug of imulsion ordnance on the end of a leather strap.
Bolo Grenade: The Strap-and-Swing Classic
Gears made grenades theatrical. Instead of lobbing one, you spin the bolo overhead and let centrifugal force do the aiming, which is why the design carries that fat cylindrical body, riveted collar, exposed fuse cap and long braided tether. It is a small prop with an outsized effect on a costume: hang two from a COG belt and the whole silhouette shifts from parade-ready to combat-ready. Printed on demand in the material you choose and supplied ready for paint, it takes a real leather strap beautifully if you want the swing to have some weight behind it. Non-functional, obviously — the only thing it detonates is a photo opportunity.
